ALSO, CHECK OUT THE NEW POSTER MONTAGE (at the bottom of the page)
This year saw Cellfest fall on the 19th July and, unlike last year, the weather held out and was mostly fine. There were a couple of downpours but nothing to cause any panic because Cell provides the massive marquee. The wonderful Storm led off the proceedings with her usual stunningly good vocals with Valhalla backing her.
Then there was a band on that pretended to be Creme Brulee, they weren't as good and the timing was terrible - good job the recorder on the desk didn't work, that's all I can say.
Then, the Headliners - 3 Daze Lost - brilliant, but Godzi "the Bass" sounded too loud from where I was.
Then it got dark and the taxi came and Iwent home - but left my house key in the garden!!
Slept on the lounge floor at Pabs, went back for key on Sunday and left my beer and 20 cigs there!! Good Weekend!
More to follow....
28/6/08 - Pabs went Berserk at the gig at The Barge, Brighouse during Chop Suey and proceeded to enact an epileptic fit in front of the stage culminating in his loss of balance and falling backwards over the monitor speaker - hilarious! (anyone got it on video?)
Recently, some of the boys have been actively trying to help promote Creme Brulee by coming up with some imaginitive posters to advrtise our up-and-coming gigs - Dan started it by going down the road of the A-Team designing a very cleverly written A-Team styled poster. The text was based on the original commentary that started every A-Team episode - In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from amaximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team!
The poster however, was mainly text based and so Subs came up with a very cleverly mocked up picture of the real A-Team but, with the faces of the band superimposed on the picture (see right)
Then, in early June, Subs stupidly revealed that he had been working with a new Boy Band "Billiam" and succombed to major ridicule based on the fact that a) they are a boy band! and, b) if you search for "billiam" on Google, the first picture that shows up is a rather saucy picture of the boy band completely starkers!!
Subs, decided to turn the tables and once again superimpose the CB boys onto the said piture (see below)
Here's a montage of some of our rather amusing "spoof" posters that various people have come up with to promote Creme Brulee:
